14th Annual Lone Star Storytelling Festival

If you are looking for a community event that showcases the heart of your local Texans and some nationally renowned storytellers, look no further. The 14th Annual Lone Star Storytelling Festival features honest stories filled with humor and heart. The event takes place over two days, Friday and Saturday, October 13th and 14th. Don White is a featured storyteller this year. Don White is a popular storyteller, folk singer and songwriter, author, teacher, and humorist with a career spanning over the past 25 years. White is frequently featured in many storytelling festivals, and has shared the stage with Jeff Dunham and Christine Lavin. Kevin Kling is another featured storyteller this year. Kling is well-known for his commentaries on the National Public Radio (NPR) show, All Things Considered. The festival also highlights the Lone Star Storytellers, which are the main feature of this event. The storytellers are selected through an audition process of eight-to-eighteen-year-olds from Texas. The selected kids go through months of coaching before the festival. The event is suitable for ages and 10 years old and up.
